Vision 2 Business

V2B is a  program of "seminars" run every Tuesday evening, and gives valuable information to would-be entrepreneurs about the journey of creating a business out of an idea. Different areas of business are covered including finance, law, marketing, management, team building, capital raising as well as more general talks giving an idea of what life in a start-up business is like. Different speakers every year keep the talks varied and fresh,  from some of the top business people in Auckland and abroad. I have been to almost every lecture for the past 4 years, and gain something valuable at every one! The ability to network with like-minded, proactive people is also invaluable, and I have got to know quite a few of the audience as well as the organising committee.

For more information and the current timetable of seminars please visit the V2B section of the Spark website.

40K Challenge

This is the premier competition under Spark. Twenty thousand dollars in cash and time in the Icehouse Business Incubator for the winner make this competition very attractive, as well as the fact that finalists receive many hours of coaching and mentoring from top business people in Auckland. The entry for the 40K Challenge is for those who are serious about building a business from their idea, and requires the submission of a business plan outlining such topics as covered in the V2B program. (Inro Technologies, the company I work for full-time, got going after winning the 40K Challenge in 2005 as Grand Challenge Ltd.)

For more information about this year's challenge please visit the 40K Challenge on the Spark Website.
